Watch the story of the game until the demo play appears then press start. It will automatically take you to the Statue of Liberty 3-2 stage.
Hidden Extra Lives
Here's where you can find some hidden extra men:
Stage 2-2 - Where the fence starts for the second time, you can jump and shoot a 1-Up.
Stage 3-1 - On the third floor, walk to the far right. There's a man on the two boxes. Shoot him with a power shuriken, go to the next level and you'll be able to jump down and retrieve a 2-Up.
Practice Mode
At the SEGA logo, hold A + B + C and press Start. Repeat at the title screen. This will enable you to practice almost any level (no bosses) with the third Option. Almost every screen has a Union Lizard coin (worth 1 or 2 lives).
Unlimited Continues
When you die and the game gives you the choice of "continue" or "end", select "end". Now start game again. You will not lose credits and you will start from the sub-level where you died, not from the start of that level.

Enter the Level Select code, then press A + START to choose your starting level. Once the action starts, press C to create an item, B to toggle between items, and A to select items. Different Battle Music Just before Before you fight Robotnik in the Hydrocity Zone, act 2, the boss music will come. Keep Sonic's head under the shallow water until he is about to drown, then pop out of the water. You will hear the boss music from Sonic and Knuckles. Easy Emeralds To gain all the chaos emeralds, enter the Level Select code, then highlight "Special Stage" and press C + Start. After receiving the emerald, press A + Start and repeat the process until you have them all. Alternatively, enter the Sound Test code and play sounds 2, 4, 5, 6 in order. If you did it correctly, the Emerald sound will play. Extra Lives To do this trick you must get to the first level of the Launch Base Zone. Set off the first alarm, stop Sonic in the middle of it, and do a Spin-Dash attack. The flybots will continue to attack, and eventually their value will increase to 10,000 points! Every five flybots will gain you a life and, if you're patient enough, you can earn up to 99 lives! Extra Rings in Debug Mode Enter Debug Mode then select a stage. Next press B, A (you must have Sonic and Tails on-screen.) When your cursor changes into a ring, paste it on Tails. Repeat this process and you can gain up to 900 rings and several 1-ups. Level Select This code requires a Sonic 2 cartridge. Insert Sonic 2 and enter the Sonic 2 Level Select (play sounds 19, 65, 09, and 17). Return to the title screen, hold A and press Start. To transfer this to Sonic 3, hold A and carefully remove the cartridge without turning off the Genesis. Insert Sonic 3 and press Reset. Finally, release A and press Down twice at the main menu.

X-Men 2: Clone Wars

You have to face your own exact clone(s) and you have to make sure you haven't destroyed all the clones. When you destroy your matching clone, go as far downward in the stage as you can to where the scorpion's legs turn into clones. Now go to the wall on the left side and hit it. You should get a smiley-face exploding on the screen. From there, take the right (not left) side of "rooms" and go into the "room" that is up two "floors" from where you were. Now go as far right as you can until you reach a small wall. Hit it! and enjoy seeing the power of Magneto's clone! After that you can beat the game. Invincibility Pause the game. Press Up + B, Up, Right, Down, Up, Right, Down, Down, Up, B. If done correctly, you'll hear a crashing sound. Unpause the game, then pause it again and press Up + B to activate the cheat. Note: This cheat does not last the entire game. If your health begins to deplete, pause the game and press Up + B to reactivate the code. Level Skip / Character Switch Pause the game.
