In-game reset
Hold L1 + R1 + L2 + R2 and press Start + Select during game play.
Increase grip strength
Press L2 + R2 one hundred times when hanging on a ledge to do pull-ups.
Joke code
Quickly press Up(2), Down(2), Left, Right, Left, Right, X, Circle at the clear code screen . You will hear Snake yell, but the code (the classic Konami code) does nothing.
Quick skip Codec calls
Press X button to stop the talking, then hold Square until the Codec conversation is done. This is useful when advancing past long, boring intermissions, or intermissions that you have already viewed.
During Codec sequences, press X followed by Triangle. The game will rapidly scroll through all the dialogue and close the Codec function on its own.
To fast forward Codec calls, press Triangle.
Alternate title screen
Successfully complete the game. The title screen will turn blue.
To see the alternate title screen without completing the game, load your game file but do not begin game play. Instead, return to the title screen and it will alternate from Raiden's face to Solid Snake's face.
Control Codec sequences
Press the Left Analog-stick or Right Analog-stick to move the faces. Press R3 or R4 to zoom in.
When using your Codec to contact Otacon or others in the game, press R1 or R2 to reveal Snake's or Raiden's thoughts about those persons, with some funny phrases. You will also hear who they really feel about their women.
Control intermission sequences
Much like the Codec transmissions, you can also press L1 or R1 to zoom in during an intermission. The harder you press, the more the zoom. You will hear a gunshot. While holding the button, use the Right Analog-stick to move the view. Also during certain parts of some intermissions are sections where it looks like you are viewing the scene through a camera or binoculars. You can use the zoom feature with these as well, and the onscreen distance or zoom indicators will increase realistically the more you zoom in. This also can be done at the beginning of the game, before pressing Start. Note: L1 and R1 are pressure sensitive. How hard you press determines the amount of zoom.

Legendary endings Select versus mode, then select Andre the Giant costume 3 for yourself and Hulk Hogan costume 1 for your opponent. Let Hogan pin you after a leg drop. You will hear the announcement that Hulk Hogan has won the heavyweight championship. Also, select Cage, then Jimmy Snuka costume 3 for yourself and Don Muraco costume 2 for your opponent. Do a move off the top of the cage to Muraco and win the cage match. Snuka will say that he is the luckiest man alive and thank his wife. Note: These only work with the specified costumes and scenarios; otherwise, nothing happens. Battle Royal The easiest way to stay in the match is to beat up your opponents one by one. When they are groggy. throw them out. If your opponent keeps countering and attacking you, get on the apron and use the "Bing Out The Hard Way" move to eliminate them. Also, set your "Excitement" to "5" so that you always have a special. Make sure it is a finisher that is easy to do. To eliminate someone easily, get on the apron and grapple the nearest opponent. Once he is grappled, do the "Bring Out The Hard Way" move so you do not get eliminated. Make sure you do not get hit off the apron. Also, make sure opponents such as the Dynamite Kid do not grapple you. Otherwise, they will use there Sunset Flip over ropes and eliminate both you and them.
