Naval Ops: Warship Gunner
Basic Ship Design
The ship designer is the best thing in the game since you can make your first ship very useful for the first few stages. Basically, move the aft turrets to the front. You can place three turrets simply by raising the second and third turrets a level or two above deck and concentrate firepower in the front. Mount the maximum number of barrels (or tubes in torpedos) if possible, but always pay attentention to the ship's weight . If the number turns yellow, the ship is approaching its maximum weight limit and will move a few knots slower.
Bigger guns don't necessarily mean better results, especially if you keep missing. Mount only enough guns (press CIRCLE and adjust the barrels and height) to get the ammo and damage you want to deal. Remember that the more barrels you use, the heavier the turret, and the less equipment (and armor) you can carry. When mounting guns, do not mix calibers; guns using different calibers will take up another valuable weapon space on the 1 - 7 menu. Instead, mount multiple main guns of the same (preferably the largest or most damaging) type fore and aft (aft only if you have a larger hull).
Note that the minimum parts you need for an "empty" ship hull are:
A hull
At least one engine (this means one boiler and one turbine initially)
One forward bridge
One smokestack
One radar
One sonar
If you do not have at least those items, your ship design cannot be saved, so always have extra RADAR, SONAR, FORE BRIDGES, and ENGINE parts before you start building!
Intermediate Ship Design
Once you have a few weapons and parts to play around with, you should seriously look into your design. Some quick pointers about designing for higher item-to- weight efficiency: deep deck weapons and heavy equipment (like bridges, boilers, and turbines) are greatly affected by where they are placed on a hull. Generally, the further they are from the hull's midpoint (create an imaginary line from bow to stern) the more they will weigh. For maximum effectiveness, place such heavy equipment as close to the midpoint as possible.
Similarily, where guns are placed affect what arcs they can fire on. In general, place your heaviest guns forward, and allow for at least one more mount in aft so you can perform devastating broadsides. Machineguns work best amidships, and like Starcraft missile turrets, should be mounted in triplets. Torpedoes, like most deck mounted weapons, can be mounted anywhere on a hull (even on destroyers) without any weight change.
Once Engine, Metallurgy, and Electronic tech levels are around 25, Gas Turbines and Atomic Engines will dispense with the need for smokestacks, allowing turrets and other heavy equipment to be placed closer to the ship's midpoint.
Lastly, do not mount more weapons than what is "ammunition efficient". That is to say, each weapon slot can only have a maximum of 65,000 rounds of ammo. Machineguns like the 20 to 35mm CIWS carry 10,000 rounds per gun. Assigning six of that weapon in one slot is optimal. Any more of that weapon in the same slot only uses ammunition faster with dubious effectiveness in Intercept Mode.
Research & Development
The research tree is rather lengthy, yet simple in some ways. All you need is a lot of money. Research these fields in the following order to gain new technology quickly:
Metallurgy - for bigger and better ship sizes.
Engines - a big ship that can't move is useless.
Weapons - bigger weapons mean sinking enemies faster.
Electronics - better detection allows firing at longer ranges.
Air Tech - leave planes last, when you have better ships to use them.
Be patient and replay missions several times to earn easy money. Always try to pick up parts if possible (to sell or scrap, even if you don't use them) since even if your ship is defeated, you get to keep the parts you picked up. After several replays, you'll have a very large store of weapons and equipment for your ship

p. Find such an item and look for a friendly person (green target cursor). Throw and hit the person with the item to get random reactions. Do not try this on an enemy unless you want to get shot. Slow reaction time Standard (non-Boss) enemies you encounter have a slow reaction time when spotting you. The farther away you are from the enemy, the longer it will take for him to spot you. All enemies except for Bosses will say something such as "What was that noise?" or "Who's there?". If this happens, it does not mean that they know you are there -- they only think that you are there. If you hear en enemy say something similar to that, look for cover, because they will investigate. This trick will not help you if you are out in the open. Killing Grays There is trick to killing a Gray with a pistol or a low-tech weapon. Since the Grays are quick, you have to do this fast. Aim for the legs when using a pistol. Then, shoot them slightly above the torso, at about the neck area. They will die with one shot. Note: You need to do this with pistol advanced or trained. If you do this with it untrained, you will get killed easily. With a combat knife or crowbar, find a medkit. Stand near the Gray and slice it only on the neck. When it needs just one more slice, slice it near the crotch. It will die very easily, and will be prevented from firing the Radiation Cannon. Use the medkit since you have been damaged by the radiation. It will heal about 25, depending on how long it took you to kill it, and how much damage you took. If it is over 45 or 50, find the nearest Medbot. Note: It is much easier to kill it with throwing knives by doing the same process. If you have lower than advanced, you will automatically die. Killing robots You can kill robots with just about any weapon, but it will take awhile when using a shotgun. With a normal unmodified clip, it will take over ten clips, and you will need God mode. Blind enemies Shoot the fire extinguishers that you see occasionally throughout the game to blind your enemies. Easy money When you are at the Lucky Money in Hong Kong, get Inside the club and go where the door girl is located. Kill her, then right click on her to get some credits. Extra items When you are low on items, go up behind a security guard and make sure there are no robots, other guards, or cameras around. Hit him with the crowbar. He should die instantly and have bullets, knockout ammo, explosives, and a few other items that are very useful. Control credits Press [Up] to roll the credits faster or press [Down] to slow them down. Candy bar in training missions When doing the training missions, you are taught how to climb ladders. In this room, there are two pipes on the left wall. Go to the far end of the room and look down the end of the pipe to find a candy bar. Keep weapons in training missions When you leave each area, throw your weapons down before the UNATCO Guard talks to you. You can then pick them up and use them in the next area. Note: The handgun and sniper rifle will lose all their ammuntion, but you can use the "Full Ammo" cheat to regain it. Secret room in training missions On the last room of the training missions, where you look at different holograms to learn about people, there is a brick sticking out on the left wall (about halfway down). Push this in, and the wall opposite will open. Go in to receive an interesting message from Jaime. Secret area in alex's office In Alex's Office, just past the desk in the middle of the room (on the right side), there are two hidden hatches in the floor. Go down one (they both lead to the same place) to find a scope weapon mod, credit chits, a lockpick, and some other items.

A wing comes out of the trunk to help slow the car down. Avoid driving mission penalty: On Special Event/driving mission mode in simulation, if you hit a wall or car and receive a penalty for it, check if your RPM is above the rev-limiter for the gear that is below (i.e., if you are in third gear then the gear below is second gear). To check if you are above the rev-limiter, if the RPMs are almost redlining then you can over-rev if you downshift. If you downshift when you are redlining in one gear, then the rev-limiter will not allow the clutch to be engaged, allowing you to stay above the 30 mph penalty. You will lose speed, but not as rapidly as you would if you were to drop down to 30 mph for five seconds. See sparks: Get a fast car and go to the Max Speed Test. Get to about 200 mph, and on one of the banked corners get very low and swerve hard to the right. Hit the side so that you go up in the air. If you get the nose of your car up high you will land on the back bottom of the car (you cannot see this happen until you watch the replay). When you finish, watch the replay. You will see sparks fly as the car grinds against the paved road. Pit stops: Make a pit stop about every five to ten laps. If you watch your top speed, you will see that it will decrease about 5 mph every three laps. Practice: On any race that you enter with an option to "Practice"; this is a hidden qualifying round. It is actually a qualifying round for the race that you are entering. Do the practice until you see first place at the top of the screen. Once you see this, quit practice and start the race in either A or B-Spec modes. Your car will start in first place. Submitted by: Alex Best Starting Car To smoke the competition at the beginning of the game purchase the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution GSR '92, on sale in the Used Car Showroom I. Submitted by: Alex Horse Power When you buy or receive a new car, before driving it change the oil. This will increase the Horse Power of the car, which sometimes can be a pretty significant increase. Submitted by: Alex Secret Black Cars The vehicle line-up in the used car showrooms is constantly changing. On the last week of the changing cycle--starting day 694--four secret black race cars appear in the showrooms. Two of the cars are in the Used Car Showroom I and the other two are in Showroom II, and they only appear for one week (Gran Turismo time). All four cars can be purchased for about Cr.8,500,000 total, which is an absolute bargain for these sort of race cars. 900,000 credits in 20 minutes!!! First you have to buy the Audi TTR Touring car from the german cars. That will cost you 550,000 credits and then tune it up to the MAX. Then go to the Europian Events. You will see the race calle "Doutche Touring Car Maischaft". Enter the race and go to the championship. Pu the mode to b-spec and relax and drink sprite and let the computer win, but when you atart the race then put it to "push hard and overtake mode (by pressing triangle) And put the pace to push hard. When you win the first four races then quit the fith one and you will get 75,000 as the championship win money and then you win a mercedes clk-gtr racing car which is worth 743,000 credits! My e-mail adress is napster_dog_freaky@yahoo.com if you have any trouble. Very easy race to do and you get a lot of money for that race and also you can do the race over and over again! I have got 245,784,987 credits like that and now i have 700 hundred cars goodluck people. submitted by: Napster Press To Pause: At any screen with scrolling text, pause the ticker by pressing L3. The information ticker sometimes have the best tips in the game. Audi Nuvolari Quattro: Notice that after you have completed 25% of the game, you will reveive a new car, like if you've just finished a tournament. That car is the Audi Nuvolari Quattro. King Dome in Seattle Circuit: Just before Safeco Field (The Mariner's Stadium), the King Dome stands on the right. The King Dome was the Mariner's old stadium and was destroyed in a giant implosion on March 26, 2000, and thus should not currently appear in the game. Wheelie at 360 mph: Go to Toyota's classic cars and purchase the Toyota GT-ONE Race Car (TS020) for 4,500,000 credits. Buy everything available for the car including the R5 racing tires. Once you have purchased and souped it up, go to the Power and Speed Icon in the top right corner of the map. Select "Driving Park". Then, select MAX Top Speed Challenge to the right, but go backwards on the track. After the loading screen, go to settings (little tool box). Equip and set the following: Tires R5, Nitrous (set the value to 50), Turbine Kit (Stage 4), Suspension (Racing); set the spring rate and the ride height to the lowest possible value (4.0) and (55) respectively; full Customizable Transmission (set the final gear to a value of 3.000) and the (Auto to 25), Driving Aids, (set all three to 0), Down Force (set front to 38 and rear to 88); and leave everything else stock. When you enter the track, accelerate as usual, but go backwards. Wait until you are on the back stretch to use the nitrous to get it over 360 mph and into a wheelie. As you round the last corner leading into the beginning of the back stretch, hit the nitrous and watch the nose of the car and the speedometer rise. Free Horsepower When you buy or win a new car, take it for an oil change. After the oil change, your car's horsepower will increase. The only downfall is you have to stay on the Race Monitor screen in order to keep the race sped up, it switches back to 1x when you go to Broadcast View mode. 2022 Nike One Morse Code If you look really close on the side of the Nike One, you can see a small area near the front of the car of morse code. If you go into photo mode, this will become clearer. The morse code is written backwards as to be seen correctly from inside the car. Spelled out, it is " www.Phil-Frank.com " the website of the Phil Frank Automotive and Product Design Company. Phil Frank was paid to design the futuristic Nike car specifically for Gran Turismo 4. Speed up replays, and turn off BGM To speed up your replays simply press down L3 and to turn off the background music simply press O. Stay in same gear in Automatic transmission When using the automatic transmission option, hold R2 to make your car remain in the same gear. Audi Nuvolari Quattro Notice that after you have completed 25% of the game, you will reveive a new car, like if you've just finished a tournament. That car is the Audi Nuvolari Quattro. Hidden Black Cars On days 694-700 in the used car lots you can buy special black versions of: 1.Toyota GT One Race Car 2.Mazda 787B 3.Nissan R390 Race Car 4.Nissan R92CP Race Car 5.Honda S2000 6.Clio Sport V6 24V Race Car Mercedes SLR McLaren 2003: Retractable spoiler: Put any replay camera on the normal replay mode and look at the trunk area of the car.
